Co-founder of UnderConsideration and author for Speak Up, Bryony is a graphic designer, photographer, painter and writer. Lover of the world, she has traveled the globe while observing and challenging ideas and expectations; translating her knowledge into different media, she has been recognized by various design and poetry publications as well as galleries and her work has even been utilized by dance companies. Bryony lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.

Born and raised in Mexico City, Armin Vit is a graphic designer and writer now living in Brooklyn, New York. He has written for AIGA’s VOICE, Emigre, Eye, HOW and STEP magazines among others. His work has been published in numerous publications around the world and has garnered a few awards. He is a former faculty member of Portfolio Center and has lectured on topics ranging from typography to branding in locations ranging from San Diego to Berlin. He is co-founder of UnderConsideration and founder of the (in)famous Speak Up. Currently, he spends his daytime working at Pentagram and every first Wednesday of the month as board for the New York chapter of the AIGA. Feisty behind the keyboard, Armin remains timid at heart.

Established in 2001, UnderConsideration is dedicated to the progress of the design profession and its practitioners; at times intangible, its purpose is to question, push, analyze and agitate design and its practitioners. Through online forums like Speak Up, publications, workshops, seminars, discussions over coffee and biscotti or simple arguments while waiting for the bus, UnderConsideration will try to strengthen the notion of Graphic Design as a political, social, economical and culturally relevant profession among graphic designers. Preaching to the choir will have new meaning – a positive one.

While the design encyclopedia lives on the web, it is grounded in the realities of life in New York City and all that that implies.
